Ray Foley leaving TodayFM, but where is he going?

He’s going to be an early riser from next month onwards…

UPDATE 12.40pm

RAY FOLEY, TODAY FM’s popular midday presenter is leaving his lunchtime slot on Today FM.

He and his sidekick JP are taking their double act to the breakfast show on Dublin’s 98fm, which is a stable mate of Today FM’s under Denis O’Brien’s Communicorp umbrella.

Foley will be on air in 98fm by November, meaning that these are his last weeks at Today FM. In the last few minutes 98fm have released more details of the new show, and Foley has said he’s excited about the move:

I can’t believe 98FM are giving me and JP the breakfast show! This show has been a dream of mine ever since I was a newsreader on 98FM a decade ago. I’ll miss my mates in Today FM but this prospect was just too tempting to turn down. Dublin is in for a rude awakening!

The breakfast show on 98fm is currently a little in limbo, and was presented until recently by Aidan Power and Clare Solan.

It’s not known who will take over from Ray Foley in the midday Today FM slot. He recorded an increase in listeners in the latest JNLR figures.

Foley previously worked at 98fm, moving to Today FM in 2004.

The PPI radio awards take place in the Lyrath House Hotel in Kilkenny tonight, so there’ll be plenty to chat about.

Aidan Power and Clare Solan are up for an award for Best Breakfast Programme, while Ray Foley is up for Music Broadcaster of the Year.
