HAPPY RECORD STORE day.
The annual celebration has reached us again, where we appreciate all things independent in music.
There are in-store events going on in Ireland’s independent record shops, as well as some lovely exclusive RSD releases to be found.
Deluxe version of U2′s Songs of Innocence, anybody? Anybody?
Here’s what’s going on near you.
1. Tower Dublin
There’s a mini festival going on in Tower’s Dawson St store today.
The queues were big this morning, so get down soon if you want the good stuff. TXFM will also be broadcasting live all day.
Freebird, Dublin
Local bands such as Cloud Castle Lake will be performing live throughout the day.
There’s also 15 percent off independent Irish releases.
The Record Spot, Fade Street
Always a good day at the Spot. Expect bands playing outside and an excellent selection of vinyl.
Outhouse, Capel Street
Record Store Gay is taking over the Outhouse LGBT centre, which will include a pop up shop, and a mini music festival including bands such as Kate’s Party and Hi Fashion. The party will carry on to Pantibar later in the evening.
All donations made for the event will go to the Yes Equality campaign.
Spindizzy, George’s Street Arcade
The only place to be the snap up those exclusives.
Rollercoaster Records, Kilkenny
THIS is up for grabs, for one thing.
Local DJs will also be popping in to play tunes all day.
Plugd, Cork
This crowd are going all out, with a four day festival.
Music Zone, Douglas Court, Cork
They have a BUNCH of limited releases and they’re not afraid to sell em to you.
Dingle Record Shop, Kerry
There’s 20 percent off all vinyl in Ireland’s smallest record shop today.
Ben O’Neills, Dungarvan
Keeping it low key, but with all the record day releases you’d be hard pressed to find elsewhere.
