Redheads are busy celebrating the release of their very own emoji, at long last

It’s the dawning of a new day.

Oh, you better believe that today is a good day for the red-haired community.

After fighting the good fighting and campaigning long and hard, our ginger friends and family have come out on top.

That’s right; they’re finally getting their very own emoji.

On Wednesday, the Unicode Cosortium, which is responsible for emoji selection, confirmed that among their 157 new characters, there will exist a long-awaited redhead emoji in a range of skin tones.

According to Fortune, The Emoji 11.0 collection will be released in June and rolled out across August and September.

And naturally, Twitter has wasted no time celebrating this major win.
