Reformed Stones Roses to play Phoenix Park in July
LEGENDARY MANCHESTER BAND The Stones Roses are to play the Phoenix Park in Dublin next summer as part of their comeback tour.
The gig will take place on 5 July and tickets will go on sale next Tuesday at 8am, costing €66.50.
Limited to six per person, they are likely to sell fast with their three hometown shows at Heaton Park near Manchester selling out within minutes.
The band – singer Ian Brown, guitarist John Squire, bassist Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield and drummer Alan ‘Reni’ Wren - announced their return in October after 15 years apart.
They broke-up in 1996 over legal wrangles and internal rows about their self-titled first album, widely seen as one of the finest debuts in rock history. It included the hit songs Waterfall, I Wanna be Adored and She Bangs the Drums.
As well as their Heaton Park and Dublin dates, the band have confirmed a spate of summer festival appearances.
At a press conference announcing their comeback in October, the band said they expected to play old and new songs with a new album expected to be released some time next year.
