Singer, songwriter, instrumentalist and legendary performer, Mercury – born Farrokh Bulsara – remains one of the world’s best loved musicians to this day.
And it seems he never doubted that he was destined for great things, commenting once: “I won’t be a rock star. I will be a legend.”
He passed away of an Aids-related illness in 1991. To celebrate his life, we’ve put together some tunes for your listening pleasure. (There are, of course, too many excellent Queen songs to choose from – so here are just few…)
Don’t Stop Me Now – written by Mercury and recorded in 1978, it remains one of the band’s most popular songs.
