THE MAN WHO revolutionised hairdressing and is credited with offering women freedom through their hairstyles, Vidal Sassoon, has died, aged 84.
He passed away at his home in Los Angeles after a battle with leukaemia last night. He is survived by his wife Ronnie, children and grandchildren.
A celebrity himself, Sassoon was the social hairstylist to royalty, film stars and models.
Sassoon’s discussed his early life in an orphanage and his time as a soldier in a film released in 2011, as well as a TEDxOxford held last year.
He was described as the ‘Chanel of Hair’ by British fashion icon Mary Quantn after creating (and trademarking) the five-point bob.
