Maser's Repeal The 8th mural is back at the Project Arts Centre

Guess who’s back, back again …

ON THE OFF chance you’re walking through Temple Bar and you think your eyes are deceiving you, they’re not.

Maser’s Repeal The 8th mural is back at the Project Arts Centre, after it was removed in 2016 due to planning legislation.

With the upcoming referendum, GCN reports that the Project Arts have now revived the iconic mural – commissioned by women’s rights website The Hunreal Issues - having found legal grounds for displaying the artwork in the planning and development regulations.

Artistic Director of the Project Arts Centre, Cian O’Brien told GCN:

It first went up in July 2016 and we had to take it down because of planning legislation. Maser is an incredible artist who I’m proud to support and also the work also had a major impact on a political, social and human rights movement.”

Maser wrote on his own Instagram:

The time for painting over our problems and exporting our women has come to an end. #repealthe8th”
