Rescue on the M50: Kitten stranded on motorway
A FOUR MONTH old kitten was rescued from Ireland’s busiest motorway this morning by the DSPA – and has now been christened “Freeway” in honour of his ordeal.
It is not known how the terrified kitten became stranded on the M50, but after joint effort by the the DSPCA and the gardaí he was successfully brought back to safety, 98FM reports.
DCPCA driver Lisa Kemp told RTÉ: “Every time a car went by, he flattened his ears… it was obvious he was absolutely terrified The gardaí were brilliant. Traffic stopped. I ran with the cat basket and just grabbed him and ran back.”
