Revealed: The man who'll be crushing Seanie Fitz's motor
WHEN IT WAS revealed that a former luxury car belonging to ex-Anglo Irish Bank chairman Sean FitzPatrick was going under the crusher, bidders lined up on auction website Ebay for the chance to push the ‘destruct’ button.
The anonymous winner laid down €3,150 to be the destroyer of Seanie’s Beamer, with the money donated by National Recycling, who had possession of the car, to the Samaritans.
TheJournal.ie can now reveal that the person who will get the satisfaction of pushing the button is Concy Ryan, from the Moyhill area of Limerick, father of ten boys and devoted husband of the heavily pregnant Attracta.
You’ve guessed it – someone has capitalised on the publicity surrounding the Seanie car crushing. Concy is in fact the fictitious creation – as is Moyhill – of TV and film production team Two Hungry Fish productions. He is the star of their entry into RTE’s online Storyland competition which looks for new Irish comedic talent.
The Outlaw Concy Ryan tells the tale of Limerick homeboy Concy who is appalled by the attempts of the Limerick regeneration scheme to change his “way of life”.
Says Ivan McMahon, writer, producer and director of Concy Ryan:
While McMahon won’t confirm that his company actually paid out the money to get Concy behind today’s crusher at the National Recycling Centre in Clondalkin, he says that there was “a whipround the lads in Moyhill” to get their boy to Dublin.
