Revealed: Why the Beckhams called their baby girl Harper Seven
IT’S THE QUESTION that has kept you awake for the past week.
Well, no, probably not but you’ll be glad to know that David Beckham has put an end to the rumours surrounding the reasoning for the name of his new baby girl Harper Seven whom his wife Victoria gave birth to earlier this week.
The ‘Harper’ part of the name is connected to the fact one of Victoria’s favourite books is Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird.
Her husband, the soccer superstar who currently plies his trade at MLS side LA Galaxy, says the ‘Seven’ is partly about the fact he used to wear the number 7 for Manchester United and England but much more than that it was all about spirituality. Ooo-err.
Speaking in a video posted to his Facebook page, he revealed: “It symbolises spiritual perfection, Seven Wonders of the World, seven colours of the rainbow and in many cultures around the world, it’s regarded as a lucky number. We love the name. We love Harper Seven.”
Watch part of the explanation from David here and rest easy now that the mystery is solved:
