Rob McElhenney from It's Always Sunny is pretty sarcastic when it comes to his physical transformation

‘Look, it’s not that hard.’

EVEN THE MOST casual It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia viewer will know that the show’s creator and star, Rob McElhenny, went through a major physical overhaul in recent years.

Ahead of the show’s seventh season in 2011, Rob decided that he wanted his character, Mac, to gain 50lbs.

So he did.

And then following the season finale, the actor shed 23lbs in one month, and continued to do so in preparation for the 8th season.

These days, the 41-year-old, who is married to co-star Kaitlyn Olson, is about as Hollywood an aesthetic as you can get – something he addressed in an Instagram post earlier today.

“Look, it’s not that hard,” he wrote, alongside a splitscreen of two very different photos of himself.

Seriously? Tell us more there, Rob.

All you need to do is lift weights six days a week, stop drinking alcohol, don’t eat anything after 7pm, don’t eat any carbs or sugar at all, in fact just don’t eat anything you like, get the personal trainer from Magic Mike, sleep nine hours a night, run three miles a day, and have a studio pay for the whole thing over a six to seven month span.

Oh, that’s all, says you.

Acknowledging the stark difference between his current physique on the right and his former appearance on the left, Rob questioned why so few people chose to embrace the regimented way of life he had so vividly detailed.

I don’t know why everyone’s not doing this. It’s a super realistic lifestyle and an appropriate body image to compare oneself to.

We mean, there’s nothing to it.
