Here's why Scotland accused Ireland of trying to rob one of their castles
DOH. GIVEAWAY WEBSITE WomenFreebies.co.uk came under fire recently for promoting a trip to Ireland… using a Scottish castle.
HEY! We have nice castles, what gives?
The company’s Facebook page has over 770,000 likes, and posted this special giveaway on St Patrick’s Day.
Unfortunately for them, that is most definitely the Scottish Eilean Donan Castle.
The castle officials took to Facebook to amend the faux paus, commenting that they were ‘not happy’ with the error, and posted a link to their Facebook saying “Somebody somewhere REALLY needs a Geography lesson! And fast!!! LOL”
But hey, that didn’t stop their commenters from blaming it on US.
Well, WomenFreebies.co.uk is located in Canada. Back in your boxes.
At least VisitScotland handled it well.
Oh.
