Rochelle from The Saturdays turned her baby's umbilical cord into art, and people are baffled
THIS IS ROCHELLE Humes, TV presenter and singer in the pop group The Saturdays alongside Tipperary’s own Una Healy.
Earlier this week, Rochelle gave birth to her second daughter with her husband Marvin Humes, formerly of the boyband JLS.
She decided to have her placenta made into pills, a pretty common practice these days – but also had her dried umbilical cord fashioned into the word ‘love’ and framed. Oh, OK.
This is very much a thing, apparently.
Rochelle shared the image with her one million Instagram followers, and well, people are a bit baffled.
“Feeling inspired to make a picture out of my kids’ toenails,” said one Instagram commenter.
Whoops!

Some mothers agreed with her decision to commemorate “the cord that supplied the baby with everything it needed to survive 9 months inside”, and that the art was a good supply of “post-birth energy”.
The reaction can mostly be summed up in this comment, however:
Well then: Are you on board the good ship Umbilical Cord Art?
