Ronan and Yvonne Keating confirm reports of marriage split

The former Boyzone singer confirms newspaper reports saying he and his wife, the parents of three kids, had split after 14 years.

FORMER BOYZONE SINGER Ronan Keating has confirmed reports that he and his wife Yvonne have split after almost 14 years of marriage.

In a brief message posted to Twitter, Keating said: “Sadly our news is true. Thank [you] all for your support.

“Yvonne and I still love and care for each other and want to protect our kids,” he added.

The singer, more recently seen as a judge on the Australian edition of The X Factor, married in April 1998 but had originally split in summer 2010 after it emerged that Ronan had had an affair with a backing dancer.

The pair had reunited later that year but Yvonne had not moved to Australia after Ronan relocated there to focus on his entertainment work.

The Sun, which had reported news of the breakup this morning, said speculation about the split had renewed when Yvonne appeared for a recent mother’s day photoshoot without her wedding ring.

The couple had meet when Ronan was in his teens, and have three children, Jack (13), Marie (11) and Ali (7).
