RONAN KEATING IS going to take the lead role in the West End version of the Once musical.

The Boyzone singer will step into Glen Hansard’s shoes as a Dublin busker in the London version of the stage show, adapted from the Oscar-winning movie.

“I believe it’s a modern-day masterpiece,” Keating told What’s On Stage about his West End debut.

When I was asked about playing the lead male (who is a busker in Dublin) I was completely overwhelmed because I knew it would be perfect, this was my home town, my people, and the place where I began my own music career.

He’ll be taking on the role for four months, between November this year and March 2015.

We just… it’s just… oh, forget it. Here’s Glen Hansard being photobombed by a dog.
