A band from Offaly did a trad cover of Maniac 2000 and it's just so right
WE WOULD GENERALLY say you can’t improve on perfection, but have a little fun with it? You can surely.

After “numerous requests”, Offaly four piece Ruaile Buaile decided to take on the Irish dance behemoth that is Maniac 2000, restyling it as a trad song.
A banjo and a cajon take the place of electronic beats, and well… it just makes sense. The video even looks like a 2017 version of the original:
It was shot at their gig in Dubai on St Patrick’s Weekend, which explains the suspicious amount of sun and bare shoulders going on.
The cover is proving to be very popular on Facebook, so we’ll wager those requests are only going to get more numerous. Maith na buachaillí!
