WE’VE SEEN HIM scuba dive, fly a fighter jet, horseride bare chest and even sing some jazz – but now we’ve watched Vladimir Putin do something totally unexpected…
…play badminton.
A video of the Russian prime minister taking to the court with president Dmitry Medvedev has been released on the Kremlin’s official blog.
According to a translation of the video on The Moscow News, the prime minister was helping the president share his love of badminton with the Russian people so that the country can achieve more success at the sport.
Not only could it bring success, but the shuttlec0ck-slamming sport also trains the mind to make decisions quickly, Medvedev explains.
“I hope that, having watched this film, you will feel an increased desire to play badminton, and we will have more success in this wonderful game,” he says.
Current world champions Lee Chong Wei from Malaysia and China’s Yihan Wang should expect some competition from Russia very soon.
Watch this at your peril – you may want to break out the shuttlecocks immediately.
