What's in my makeup bag? Ruth Bergin
EACH WEEK, WE’LL be taking a peek into some of our faves’ makeup bags to see their must-have products, because we’re nosey. This week, it’s the turn of freelance makeup artist Ruth Bergin. You can follow her on Instagram here.
Her earliest makeup memories
“My earliest memories of makeup are definitely of doing my mums makeup, I used to do it for her when she and my dad would go out on date night from when I was about 12 years old, and I still do it now!
“My dad used to HATE when I wore makeup in secondary school, in fairness it was probably a very tragic attempt.
“My signature look definitely changes as I grow as an artist, you never stop learning with makeup, one of the many reasons I love it.
Her makeup bag and what’s inside
“This is my makeup bag with all my essentials and favourites that I bring everywhere with me, it has literally everything I need to create any makeup look for any occasion.
“My personal makeup bag is pretty sorry looking compared to my kit, it always ends up being the place I trial new makeup for my kit and throw in broken products that I can still use but are not presentable enough for my kit.
“My absolute cant live without essentials are Penneys’ individual lashes, Becca Champagne Pop highlighter, Inglot ’96′ under-eye concealer, MAC Strobe Cream and lipsticks!
“Penneys’ individuals, (the skinny ones not the clusters) are amazing and €1.50 which you can’t really go wrong with. I can build up an amazing natural looking lash with them and I instantly feel a hundred times better even without any other eye makeup on.
“Becca ‘Champagne Pop’ is unrivalled in my opinion, it’s suitable for almost everyone and for day time or night time.
“MAC Strobe Cream is the most gorgeous primer, another product I don’t think is rivalled by many other – it’s a cult product.
“Inglot under-eye concealers are one of their most underrated products, the shades I use, 95 and 96, have a gorgeous pink under tone which perfectly colour-corrects any blueness. They’re semi matte drying so perfect for under the eye.
“And everyone knows MAC lipsticks are the best in the game!”
