Ruth Negga and Dominic Cooper are reportedly done after eight years together

IT HAS NOT been a good week for love, guys.

love is dead

Still smarting from the revelation that Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan had called time on their nine-year marriage, we now have to contend with reports that Ruth Negga and Dominic Cooper are no more.

So yeah, in the words of pretty much everyone on Twitter, love is officially dead.

According to PageSix, who first broke the news, the actors believe their relationship simply ran its course.

The couple, who began dating in 2010 and worked alongside each other over the course of their relationship, are said to have amicably parted ways.

But for any die-hard romantic struggling to cope with yet another blow, rest assured sources close to the stars maintain that they are keen to remain friends.

The pair’s respective representatives have yet to comment on the matter.
