RUTH NEGGA HAS had a rollercoaster of a month.
From being namechecked by Meryl Streep at the Golden Globes to garnering her first ever Oscar nomination, you could say it’s been a bit of a whirlwind.
And now she’s capping it all off by landing a coveted spot on the cover of Vanity Fair’s annual Hollywood issue.
The Limerick woman is featured on the cover alongside some of the year’s other heavy hitters including Emma Stone, Lupita Nyong’o, Amy Adams, Elle Fanning, Dakota Fanning, Aja Naomi King, Dakota Johnson and Janelle Monae.
So glitzy and glamorous.
Negga was also lucky to have her portrait taken by the great Annie Liebovitz.
In the little blurb accompanying her photo, the magazine pays tribute to her performance in Loving and, in particular, her “intentful” eyes.
The Irish-Ethiopian actress Ruth Negga has eyes intentful enough to shift objects around on-screen—a near-telekinetic focus that can shove aside anyone crowding her path.
G’wan Ruth! Doing Limerick proud.
