This exchange between Ryan Seacrest and Katy Perry gave American Idol viewers the creeps
LOOK, THERE’S ABSOLUTELY no denying that live television isn’t easy.
We mean, you have to know whether or not you’re on-air, whether or not you’re looking into the right camera and whether or not you’re creeping out millions of viewers.
Oh wait, the third one might just refer to Ryan Seacrest.

During a recent episode of American Idol, Ryan can be seen engaging with Katy Perry in an exchange that left viewers vaguely unsettled as they questioned the motivation behind Ryan’s remarks.
Appearing not to realise he was on-air despite Katy telling him so, the 43-year old makes reference to Katy’s mother.
Katy, who seems conscious of the camera (and potential viewers) winked in its direction, and replied to the show’s presenter.
In a hushed tone, Ryan, who still isn’t acknowledging the camera, replied: “You are too, but you’re not a mom.”
When Katy awkwardly replied ‘not yet’, Ryan made another remark which caused many viewers to squirms in their seats at home.
Katy’s fellow judge, Lionel Richie, clearly didn’t, advising Ryan: “Don’t start.”
At this point in the unsettling exchange, Ryan appears to realise they’re live, and his demeanor drastically changes, telling the panel of judges: “I think we’re back.”
Viewers reacted to the exchange, showing contempt for Ryan and his conduct.
