The Sainsbury's Christmas ad is even more heartbreaking than the John Lewis one
THOUGHT THE JOHN Lewis Christmas ad could draw tears from a stone? UK supermarket chain Sainsbury’s effort goes above and beyond the call of duty, so to speak.
It’s inspired by the true story of an unofficial truce between some German and Allied forces during Christmas of 1914, a few months after World War I began.
According to ChristmasTruce.co.uk, the two sides used the time to bury their dead, but also took a moment to chat, sing carols and (reportedly) play football.
You will weep.
