SAOIRSE RONAN WAS nominated for her third Golden Globe this week for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for ‘Ladybird’.

She ended up missing the announcement herself, however – because she was hiking in Wicklow at the time.

Speaking to People Magazine, she said:

I actually forgot about it because I was on a different time zone and up and out of the house.

I had a friend over and we went to this beautiful site called Glendalough, which is a monastic site and there’s a beautiful lake and mountains.

We’re familiar with it Saoirse, don’t worry. This is what it looks like under the current weather conditions.

My bag just started to vibrate nonstop and I was like ‘What’s going on?’

And then I saw a bunch of missed calls from my publicist and I was like, ‘Oh s—, they’re out today!”

So there you go. Even Hollywood superstars forget things sometimes.

She continued:

It was quite nice as it meant I wasn’t thinking about it too much [...] It was such a lovely surprise when I heard. It’s very exciting.”

Her mam was similar unbothered.

I called my mom and she didn’t answer.”

She called me back and was like, “The one time I don’t answer my phone!”"
