SAOIRSE RONAN STARS in Greta Gerwig’s semi-autobiographical movie, Ladybird, in case that’s a bit of news you missed over the last few months.

The director and actress have been travelling the world promoting the much-hyped film, and in the process, it appears they’ve become the greatest pals.

They even feature on this months Variety cover

But why?

Greta said she cast Saoirse in MINUTES

Greta said she met Saoirse at the 2015 Toronto Film Festival and went to her hotel room to show her the script.

She had read the script and she really responded to it from her heart. She said, ‘I know I’m from Ireland [and] a tiny town all across the world, but I’m telling you: I know this and I know this story and I know this girl. I need to do this.

So we met up and we read the script out loud and she read all of Lady Bird’s lines and I read everybody else’s lines and I knew. I knew within two pages she was the person; I knew she was Lady Bird.

DREAMY.
