SAOIRSE RONAN IS still on the promotional trail for her Oscar contender, Lady Bird.
This time next week, we’ll know if she is a winner.
Until then, we have the flood of interviews. Saoirse appeared on TODAY’s Sunday Sitdown with interviewer Willie Geist to discuss her early days in front of the camera, and her life in Ireland and America.
She described her mam and her as being ‘best mates’, for starters
She explained that they didn’t have the push and pull like her character Lady Bird has with her mum in the film.
We didn’t have it. Just pull. We have a really special relationship, she has a lot of respect for me, to be given that respect and felt like you’re listened to meant I gave that in return. We have that partnership as a result.
Saoirse and her ma are our OTP.
The 23-year-old also spoke about when she picked up acting, which is where we start delving into her past a little bit.
Maybe when I was six or seven, my dad was doing a short film and they need a kid to be in it, and he had one!
She quickly followed up by saying she’d love to direct, and that was something she was drawn too before she started acting.
But it’s none of this that is of any interest to us.
