BACK IN 2013, an American man who goes by the name of @FunkyThursdays on Instagram met Seth Rogen at a charity event.

So, of course, he got a picture with him:

Great.

But that’s only the start of the story.

Every year since – given @FunkyThursdays attends events put on by Seth Rogen’s charity – he’s had the opportunity to meet him.

And every year he’s brought a printed photo of last year’s shot with him

It just gets better and better.

Last night, as he shared his latest photo in a four-year streak, he explained on Reddit how this keeps coming about:

Seth and his wife Lauren started Hilarity for Charity in 2012, HFC spreads awareness and raises money to benefit the alzheimers association. I’ve had the opportunity to meet Seth at HFC events and take these pictures over the past four years.

And 2017′s is probably the best of the bunch – seen by millions on Imgur over the last 24 hours

And Seth knows him well at this stage:

Yeah, he was actually really excited to see me

And there’s hope for the future:
