In some exciting news, the writer/actress/fine Irish export has sold a new horror-comedy series to the American TV network Showtime.
Here’s the show description, as per Deadline:
“It’s a show about mental illness, small-town politics, religion and a family battling their demons. But in a really funny and scary way.”
Horgan co-wrote the series with Jeff Astrof, a sitcom veteran whose CV includes episodes of Friends, The New Adventures of Old Christine, and The Wild Thornberrys.

Horror-themed telly is having a big moment right now (Santa Clarita Diet, Stranger Things, American Horror Story… the list goes on) so we’re excited to see what they will bring to the genre.
But when will we get to do that is as of yet unclear. Showtime has only committed to making a pilot, after which the network will decide whether to order a full season or not.
So watch this space. Spooky Sharon could be on its way to us yet.
