RUSSIAN OFFICIALS SAY they have discovered “indisputable proof” that the fabled Abominable Snowman exists.

Officials say they are “95 per cent” certain that markings found in the snow on the Siberian tundra are footprints left by yetis travelling across the snowy plains.

Scientists from Canada, the US , Estonia and Sweden recently attended a conference addressing the issue which was being held in the town of Tashtagol, in the region of Kemerovo. Locals from the region, which is about 2,000 miles east of Moscow, have reported sightings of ‘yetis’ with increased frequency in recent years, the Guardian reports.

“Conference participants came to the conclusion that the artifacts found give 95 per cent evidence of the habitation of the ‘snow man’ on Kemerovo region territory,” a statement by the Kemerovo government read.

During an expedition to the region’s Azassky cave and Karatag peak, local officials said, tracks and hair were discovered which they believe belong to a yeti or yetis, the Telegraph said.

Yetis are legendary creatures said to generally inhabit the Himalayan mountain range.  They have also been allegedly spotted in Siberia.
