Simon Cowell doesn't want to go away, ever

The X Factor mogul and pop impresario wants to be cryonically frozen when he dies – otherwise he’ll regret it “in 300 years”.

X FACTOR MOGUL Simon Cowell has revealed that he wants to be cryonically frozen when he dies – fearing that he may “regret it in 300 years” if he isn’t frozen.

The Sun, quoting an interview given by Cowell to this month’s US edition of GQ magazine, quotes the 51-year-old as saying: “It’s an insurance policy. If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. But if it does work, I’ll be happy.”

He adds:

If it’s possible – and I think it will be – why not have a second crack? Does that sound crazy?

The lengthy interview with GQ also outlines some of the rituals that frame Cowell’s day – apparently including a habit of pressing the ‘snooze’ button twice, before drinking elaborate smoothies while watching episodes of the Flintstones.

He also admits to taking a weekly cocktail of vitamins and minerals via an intravenous drip.

Despite his apparently obsessive concern with his health, Cowell is known to be a fond smoker – and infamously hires staff to light a cigarette and have it waiting for him during the breaks on live TV broadcasts.
