IT’S MOTHER’S DAY this Sunday and with time ticking by the pressure to find something to give her is building.
Who said you had to BUY your mother something though?
We all know actions speak louder than words – or any gift – so why not do something a little more thoughtful?
Here are 9 brilliantly simple ways to show her that you care:
1. Wear a coat
At all times. And don’t go out with a wet head either. That’s just going to give her a heart attack.
2. Let her know you made it there safely
Your age is irrelevant when it comes to your mother’s worrying about your travels.
Whether you’re 24 or 40, don’t have her up half the night wondering if you’re dead in a ditch somewhere.
One simple text will put her mind at ease.
3. Give her the gossip
Have you heard something about the neighbours that she doesn’t know yet? Are you willing to share a little bit of information about your love life?
Dish the dirt, she’ll love it.
4. Fill her in on that great offer you’ve spotted
Mams LOVE a bargain almost as much as they love you.
5. Block up that draught that’s been driving her mad
The poor woman would feel a draught in the middle of the Mojave desert and the mysterious one in the house is the bane of her life.
Spend a few minutes searching for it – with her if need be – and do whatever it takes to help eradicate the fiend.
Sure maybe you can help her with a few other bits while you’re at it?
6. Stay in for the night and watch TV with her
Spending time with your mum is far more valuable than any bunch of flowers or box of chocolates.
If you’ve got the time to call over and spend an evening with her, just do it. She’ll be over the moon.
7. Help her keep up to date with the latest technology
Mams are a rather capable bunch on the whole but some still struggle with all these newfangled gadgets.
Take five minutes to explain how that touch screen works and your mammy will be absolutely flying it in no time. She’s an independent woman.
8. Finally accept her Facebook request
Come on, she’s not THAT bad.
9. Tell her the only thing she ever needed to hear
