SINÉAD BURKE IS a trailblazer for many reasons. She’s in the middle of doing a PhD on human rights education and is also an advocate. Basically, she’s an incredibly busy woman. If you haven’t heard of her before, her TED talk is well worth watching.

Given how much work she’s put in to making fashion more inclusive it was pretty cool to her appearing on the cover of ‘The Business of Fashion’ and looking absolutely incredible. Not only that but her photoshoot was incredibly powerful too striking a strong message.

So we were pretty excited to see Sinéad meeting up with Kim Kardashian at the launch of the ‘Business of Fashion’ issue with Sinéad on the front cover. Kim is the other cover star for this edition of the magazine entitled ‘The Age of Influence’.
Nothing like a cover with two incredibly powerful and fashionable women from two completely different backgrounds. That is true inclusivity.
She also managed to snag a picture with THE momager Kris Jenner which is so cool. Not a bad night’s work at all!

While meeting the Kardashian’s is pretty cool, Sinéad has done incredible work in amplifying the voices of those who are usually ignored within the fashion industry. The importance of seeing someone that isn’t tall and skinny on the cover of a fashion magazine is powerful and shows people that it doesn’t matter who you are or what you look like, fashion should be for everyone.
When I was younger and pored over magazines, I always wanted to flick to a page to see someone who looked like me. I’m not sure teenage me could have imagined this moment, but think she’d be pretty proud, all the same.
Hell yeah.
