ON A FEW occasions every year, Sunday night earns itself a little respite, and Monday night picks up the slack for being the worst night of the week.
Naturally, this happens on a Bank Holiday weekend, and last night was no different.
After three days off and an absolute scorcher of a weekend, the fear started setting in for most people, and it wasn’t long before we all started contemplating the merits of living by ourselves under a rock.
Thankfully, the folk behind RTÉ’s TV schedule had the foresight to take this nationwide malaise into account, and decided to give Sing Street its televisual debut.
And Christ, if the coming-of-age comedy-drama didn’t do the trick in jig-time.
