15 of the best signs from today's March for Choice

Someone actually invested in a uterus costume.

TODAY THE SIXTH annual March for Choice is taking place in Dublin, with many hoping that it will be the last.

Organised by the Abortion Rights Campaign, the march calls on the government to act on the recommendations of the Citizen’s Assembly earlier this year.

The Citizen’s Assembly was made up of 92 individuals who were educated about the Eighth Amendment between the months of January and April this year.

The majority (64%) agreed that there should be no restriction on thee reasons for allowing abortion. A further 89% expressed support for abortion rights in the case of pregnancy as a result of rape and in the case of a child having a fatal foetal abnormality.

The government has set a vague date for an abortion referendum next year, but some politicians believe that the judgment made by the Citizen’s Assembly is too liberal.

This is despite the fact that there is nobody more educated (from both sides of the debate) in this country than the members of the Citizen’s Assembly.

The turnout for this year’s March for Choice is the biggest to date.

As always, there is an excellent array of creative and powerful placards.

Some people are taking it a step further than bringing a sign – fair play, it’s ridiculously sunny out today.

There are also similar demonstrations around the U.K. in Europe in solidarity, including this crowd outside of the Irish Embassy in London.
