An ice-cream shop in Sligo has won 'Best New Flavour In The World' for its gin-flavour sorbet

‘Hup Enniscrone!

REMEMBER THE LITTLE ‘Gelati’ ice cream parlour in Enniscrone, Co. Sligo?

For a small shop in a seaside town, they seem to be constaly making global headlines – their Oreo gelato was named the best in the world at a famous ice cream competition in Italy two years ago.

Now, they’ve only gone and done it again – only this time with their gin-flavour sorbet.

There’s a full bottle of gin put into every batch, and Michael O’Down told DailyEdge earlier this year:
We have been experimenting for weeks with different gins and found that Gunpowder Irish Gin made in Drumshanbo works best with our recipe.”
It’s very potent but tastes great.”

Capitalising on the boozy scoops success, they’re now developing a new flavour, called “Half Cut”. We can’t begin to imagine what’s going into their latest spiked creation!
