IRISH PEOPLE LOVE Snapchat.

So much so that Ireland is actually the top country for Snapchat usage based on percentage of usage by adults in each country.

It’s about time then that we got some Irish language filters, isn’t it?

Conradh na Gaeilge has today announced that the app has launched Irish language geofilters for every county in Ireland.

And they look a little something like this.

Ciarraí Co. Kerry

Corcaigh_Gael Taca Co. Cork Co. Cork

Gaillimh Co. Galway

Pretty nifty, right?

In a statement, Conradh na Gaeilge thanked Snapchat for the collaboration and stated that they hope it will encourage more people to use Irish on social media.

There are now more ways than ever for people to use the Irish language on social media, and we’re delighted that Snapchat now has geofilters as Gaeilge. Facebook, Twitter and Gmail are already available in Irish so it’s brilliant to add Snapchat to the list of international companies using Irish. Conradh na Gaeilge hopes that this will encourage even more people to use whatever Irish they have on social media.
