12 deadly songs by Irish gals to listen to this Galentine's Day
IT’S GALENTINE’S DAY. We all know what that means.
Here are some deadly songs by some deadly female Irish musicians to celebrate.
1. Saint Sister – Madrid
Consisting of Gemma Doherty and Morgan MacIntyre, this duo produces serious music to chill out to.
2. Wyvern Lingo – Subside
This trio from Bray are deadly, going places, and if you haven’t been listening to them already, I invite you to start RIGHT NOW.
3. Loah – Take it
Loah is has a voice gives the aural experience of pouring velvety caramel into your ear. Just, less sticky. This is a collab with producer Ruairi Bantum so we’re cheating a bit, but it’s new, and only fabulous.
4. Samantha Mumba – Gotta Tell You
Try and tell me this isn’t an absolute tune.
5. Bitch Falcon – Syncope
If you like your metal on the heavy side, get listening to Lizzie Fitzpatrick, and Naomi MacLeod. Their bandmate Nigel Kenny isn’t bad either.
6. Enya – Caribbean Blue
But of course. Is there a song as beautiful as this to be found elsewhere? Oh yeah, EVERY OTHER SONG ON ENYA’S DISCOGRAPHY.
Thank Ireland for Enya.
7. Soak – Sea Creatures
This little hero from Derry was nominated for the Mercury Prize and she consistently produces amazing songs. She’s only 19, too.
8. Heathers – Remember When
You know it as the Discover Ireland track, get to know it as a certified #BANGER
9. Lisa Hannigan – Knots
Deadly song, and deadly video to boot from this Kilcloon woman.
10. The Corrs - Runaway
If you do not listen to this on a daily basis while giving thanks, I don’t even want to know you.
11. Bwitched – Cest La Vie
Sorry, I had to.
12. Roisin Murphy – Overpowered
That’s if yer cool enough!
