TO THE DISAPPOINTMENT of many, Victoria Beckham told Vogue UK that a Spice Girls reunion was completely off the cards.
A week ago, Beckham shared this photo to Instagram, convincing everyone that a reunion really was imminent.
However, now she insists:
I’m not going on tour. The girls aren’t going on tour. It was so great to see the girls. We had such a fun lunch. It was really, really, really lovely. I still speak to them all individually, but for us to all get together was really lovely.
Now, Metro report that there’s rumours that the five women are coming together to set up an X Factor style show, in which they work with their manager Simon Fuller to discover ‘the next Spice Girls’.
A source close to Simon says he ‘has been formulating this girlband idea for over two years. He wants to create an international band’. Which makes people think that this competition will span several continents. The source explained:
For example, one member will be selected from China, another from India and then someone will be from the UK.
The aim of the show is to bring diversity to the charts. Like the Spice Girls once did, when they launched their band with one member who was like a baby, one who was posh, one who was scary, one who did sports and one who was ginger.
It might sound ridiculous, but somehow P Diddy managed to get 9 series out of his show Making the Band, so this could work. However, last year’s X Factor had the worst viewings in history. So maybe now’s not the time.
