Paramount Pictures agrees to dub Spongebob movie into Irish for cinemas

THE SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS film Sponge Out of Water is being dubbed into Irish to be show in cinemas around the country.

The TV show is already dubbed for broadcast on TG4, and the same team is now working on the film in time for its release on 27 March.

The voice of Antonio Banderas is among those which will be dubbed into Irish.

Niamh McCaul of Paramount Pictures Ireland says this is a first-of-its-kind project:

We are delighted to have this opportunity to work with TG4 and release The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water in our national language. A first for a Hollywood studio, I hope Irish audiences will support this initiative in March when we celebrate all things Irish.

The actors who already work on the dubbing of Spongebob for TG4 are working with the company Macalla Teoranta on the 3D movie.
