LIVING THE LIFE of an international diplomat undoubtedly gets one into its fair share of strange situations – but even the likes of Tony Blair could hardly have foreseen that one day he’d spend a Friday evening hanging out with two twins from Lucan who got him confused for Paul McCartney.
Blair bumped into X Factor twins Jedward backstage at the Late Late Show last night where both were appearing – and as this Twitpic from Jedward’s label Universal Music Ireland shows, Blair found himself in one of his more unusual photo ops.

Blair’s open-necked look – a massive contrast to his smart blue tie worn on-air – was the original outfit he had intended to appear in, but Blair explained that when he saw host Ryan Tubridy’s dapper getup, he asked to borrow a tie from a member of his security entourage.
Blair is in town to sign copies of his book, A Journey, in Eason’s on O’Connell St this morning.
