IF YOU CAN believe it, this year is the 40th anniversary of the release of the first Star Wars film. Forty whole years of Star Wars!
Yesterday, the cast and crew came together for a panel at the annual Star Wars Celebration in Florida - George Lucas, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and John Williams all showed up, and it was lovely.
But of course, the absence of their late co-star and friend Carrie Fisher, who passed away in December, was very much felt.
Her daughter, Billie Lourd, appeared in her stead, wearing a white dress clearly inspired by Princess Leia’s costume:
The filmmakers and actors paid tribute to Fisher with this beautiful, emotional video, featuring snippets from interviews, outtakes, and loads of her trademark wit.
Anyone else tear up a bit at the “You’re our only hope” part?
A legend that will always be missed. <3
