Start them early: Beyoncé and Jay Z's baby makes chart history

Less than a week old and Blue Ivy Carter has already hit the charts…

BLUE IVY, the first child of Beyoncé and Jay Z, has made music history – at less than one week old.

Blue Ivy Carter, born on 7 January, has become the youngest person to appear on a Billboard chart.

Jay Z recorded his daughter’s first sounds and incorporated them in his rap-lullaby Glory, in which he outlines his emotions at his daughter’s birth and describes her as his greatest creation and “my child with the child from Destiny”.

He also suggests that the couple suffered a miscarriage during an earlier pregnancy with the lines: “Last time the miscarriage was so tragic, we was afraid you’d disappear but, nah baby, you’re magic.”

Glory by Jay Z and featuring BIC (for Blue Ivy Carter) has entered the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart at No 74:
