LAST WEEK, AN exhibition match at the Brazilian Open tennis tournament produced a seriously adorable moment for fans watching on.
Local dogs from Sao Paulo had been rescued and trained to be ball dogs – fetching the tennis ball between points for the players.
The purpose was to show that stray dogs could be trained to do so many things under the right circumstances – and the world has fallen in love with them
Look at that doggie go.
Andrea Beckert, a trainer from the Association of Animal Wellbeing told CNN what it was all about:
We want to show that abandoned dogs can be adopted and trained. After all, it’s not easy to get a dog to only pick up the lost balls, and then to give them up!
There were four heroic dogs taking part in total
And their adorable exploits have hit the headlines around the world.

With enough love and affection, they planned to give these dogs a new lease of life says Andrea:
We have to make them adapt, feel the environment, the court, the noise of the balls, and the noise of the people.
