Subway apologises over footlong controversy
SUBWAY HAS RESPONDED to complaints regarding their footlong sandwiches measuring less than 12 inches with an apology and a commitment to ensuring they would be a foot long in future.
The world was shocked when two amateur investigators in New Jersey revealed that Subway’s famous footlongs were actually closer to 11 inches long.
They duely filed a legal complaint and as a result Subway have responded via a statement given to the Chicago Tribune, which expresses regret and promises that they will redouble their efforts to “ensure consistency and correct length in every sandwich we serve”. The statement went on to say that their “commitment remains steadfast to ensure that every Subway Footlong sandwich is 12 inches at each location worldwide.”
We hope they’ve learned their lesson. No one likes being short changed, especially when it comes to sandwiches. It’s a good thing Joey Tribbiani didn’t get wind of this, all hell would have broken loose.
