Sue Perkins has taken a break from Twitter after Top Gear death threats

The next stage in the never ending Top Gear saga.

SINCE JEREMY CLARKSON got sacked from the BBC, there has been a lot of speculation as to who will take over his Top Gear presenting role.

There was some talk that it would be comedienne and presenter of The Great British Bake Off Sue Perkins, but today she has taken to Twitter to reveal the abuse she has suffered since the rumours started.

It started late last week

And continued today – with Perkins revealing that death threats have been made

Which naturally led her to take a break from social media for the time being

Of course, nearly all the responses have been of support to the presenter – who appeared to rule herself out of contention for the Top Gear job last week

The Top Gear nightmare rolls on.
