IF YOU WERE out and about last night you might have seen the supermoon, a phenomenon that happens when a full moon coincides with the moon’s closest approach to Earth in its orbit.
Last night’s supermoon was the first of three expected in the next few months, with two more appearing on 10 August and 9 September.
Despite the cloudy weather it was still a sight to behold, and seemed even larger in other parts of the world – here are some of the most amazing shots of the phenomenon.
