And the latest is an interesting spin on burgers.
Introducing the sushi burger
They’re popping up everywhere.
As The Telegraph explains:
Chefs craft the rice into the dome shape of a burger. It is sometimes left just-cooked, sticky and fresh, and sometimes fried for ease of eating.
Also included are traditional sushi components, like raw fish, ginger, seaweed and wasabi, but with a burger shop twist – so some versions include pulled pork and pickles, while others include a big, juicy burger patty.
Yes, there are deep fried versions
As Buzzfeed notes, an Instagram search of #sushiburger pulls up over 2300 posts
Which means that this is gathering some sort of pace
It’s slightly counter intuitive to see a burger bun made from sushi rice
They might be trending on Instagram because they are a seriously photogenic but of grub
Of that there is no doubt.
