Is there anything more Irish than sweeping the rain off the pitch for a match?

YESTERDAY, DUBLIN played Donegal on their home turf in Ballybofey.
The weather wasn’t at all on their side – the country was in the grip of Storm Ewan, and the the pitch had seen just a bit of rain. Just a little bit.
It’s not like it was so waterlogged they had to get people to sweep the water off with brooms before the match or anything.

Oh. Never mind.

Despite all that, the pitch passed inspection and the match ended in a draw. Let it never be said that GAA players aren’t hardy bucks.
