This Spin 1038 story about Taylor Swift being 'carried around in a suitcase' went global yesterday
YESTERDAY, DUBLIN RADIO station Spin 1038 published a story suggesting that Taylor Swift was being transported out of her New York City apartment in a giant black suitcase.
Spin 1038 reported that Splash News Agency, a leading celebrity news agency and photo service, had taken a series of paparazzi photos with the caption, “Taylor Swift being transported in a huge suitcase from her Tribeca apartment into her truck”.
Ludicrous? Sure. Plausible? Kind of!
Spin 1038′s story quickly went viral and garnered thousands of retweets on social media.
Whoops!

It was the talk of the internet!

Publications like Teen Vogue, MTV, NME, Glamour, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Popcrush and Bustle picked up on the story and credited Spin 1038 with noticing the caption.
Unfortunately all good things must come to an end.
Last night, Spin (the magazine, not the radio station) reported that Splash News was retracting its earlier caption altogether and all but confirmed that Taylor Swift was not in the giant suitcase.
Oh well.
It was fun while it lasted.
