Teen becomes musical genius after sustaining serious concussion

Lachlann Connors went from no musical ability whatsoever, to playing 13 instruments by ear.

A TEENAGER WHO sustained a concussion found that the injury activated a hidden talent in him.

Lachlan Connors was a promising young athlete when he hit the back of his head during a friendly lacrosse game and subsequently found himself devouring anything musical.

The Denver teen told CBS4 that music “gets him up in the morning”. But it wasn’t always like that. Lachlan wasn’t born with much musical ability.

His mother, said “He really had no talent”. Musically, that is. Lachlan was into sports and his mother felt he would be a professional lacrosse player.

When he suffered the concussion, everything changed. He started to hallucinate, have seizures, and was told that he couldn’t play sports any more. However, he could play music with no effort at all. Connors can now play around 13 instruments “beautifully” and plays it all by ear as he can’t yet read music.

According to his doctor, Spyridon Papadopoulos, the concussion may have activated a part of his brain that he previously wasn’t utilising. While any relation to the incident is not yet proven to be certain, Connors told CBS that he’s convinced that it’s all connected.

I honestly think something got rewired. Something just changed, and thank God it did.
