SCOTTISH FESTIVAL T In The Park took place at the weekend in Perthshire.
Around a quarter of a million people descended on Strathallan Castle for a weekend of partying.
But as thousands of fans packed up and left this morning, Ayr man Scott Johnston posted this tweet:
It quickly went viral. Two hours after being posted, it has been retweeted almost 7,000 times and counting.
And the official response was swift. First the police were contacted:
And then an official search began in the campsite.
Meanwhile, other Twitter users were also posting images of grim post-festival scenes in the campsites.
A media hunt began as the tweet spread. Numerous media organisations attempted to contact Scott, with one even offering to “interview you from inside your tent bag”.
This hashtag began to trend.
And there was a general meleé of speculation and praying for his survival.

Finally, Johnston tweeted that he had been “unzipped”.
But he – or somebody pretending to be him – also spoke to the Scottish Daily Record and said it was all a prank.
He told the paper:
I just tweeted it for a laugh. I didn’t think it would spiral out of control… I don’t feel bad about it. I can’t stop laughing – it’s the only thing that made me laugh all weekend. That was my seventh year going and it was the worst T in the Park I’ve ever been to.
However, Johnston then muddied the waters further by tweeting that it wasn’t him that had spoken to the paper – and that he had given them a friend’s phone number.
That tweet has since been deleted.
